My name is Kurt. I'm pleased to have a chance to say hi to you. I want to thank each of you for joining my site. Some of you have been here for a while, though many are new. There have been many new arrivals in the last few months, which is interesting and curious to me, as I have been pretty quiet and rarely post... In any event, and for whatever the reason you came, I am sincerely glad you are here. :-)
Part of the reason for my silence has been the sheer weight of life. I expect that you all can related. Life seems so often such a heavy, pressing, relentless squeeze doesn't it? I remember life being this way when I was twenty-two and living on a beach up near the very topmost edge of California, way up there below Oregon; living alone on an enormous empty stretch of sand, all by myself, utterly alone and utterly squeezed. I always thought then that things would be better some day. Things never really got better, just better tolerated. The only thing that ever seemed to change is my strength and ability to CARRY that weight. It's the same now. It's always been this way. That's my life it seems. I wonder if that is your life, too?
Anyway, I wanted to say hi, thank you for joining me here, and tell you about something exciting going on. Yumiko (she's my pretty wife) and I are planning another Great Life Adventure together. Yup. This will be our fifth such adventure (and likely our last). I made a page on this site to tell you about it. The link is here. Please go check it out if you are curious. I will be back to post more in this space. I promise. And I do keep my promises.
And what about you? What's your current or next Great Life Adventure?
My name is Kurt Bell.
You can learn more about The Good Life in my book Going Alone.
Be safe... But not too safe.
