The Good Life - 12/13/2022 - Woo be damned *

A light switched on in my mind last night, prompted by a comment from Juan about taking charge of the visualization of our challenges, issues and opportunities. So, instead of merely fretting over my perceived life worries, I witnessed them completing and closing well. And that did something real. It’s like I fooled my mind that there was no monster in the closet (though there really is a monster in the closet) which helped me to return to sleep a little faster and more soundly than if I’d simply tried to solve my problems at 2:00 AM.

My problems will be solved. I always solve them. Every one of them. Sure, someday—likely soon—I’ll meet a problem that’s beyond me, and I’m ready (I hope) to be taken down hard. But I know things are good, and in hand, and I can still climb every mountain. So, why waste my nights solving problems that can wait ’till day. It’s better maybe to simply visualize a happy ending to lull this child within me back to sleep. Then, at dawn, I’ll rise stronger, more rested and well, put on my work shirt, comb my hair, make a strong cup of coffee and sit down to work and begin solving the hard problems which I’d promised myself in the dark I would find a way to complete.
