The Good Life - 11/21/2022 - Feeling ill

I think I picked up the flu Emily had. My goodness, how illness robs us of spirit and will. Luckily, it’s a short week and I’ve already mapped out my work objectives for the next three days, making these easier to complete. I’m remembering now a coworker a few years back who told me on a Monday he’d soon be dead. He kept at it for a while, coming into the office each day until he finally left and died. I think of him often. I still see his face and hear his voice. He didn’t want to go. Had to. And the world then spun on without him. I guess I’d better make it a good day in spite of feeling ill. I’ll finish this, feed and walk the dogs, get dressed and start my work. I’m not sure though if I’ll swim later—probably I shouldn’t. But then, maybe I’ll swim as long as I’m able.
