My friend Shea Roberts in Japan invited me to join him on his podcast. We talked about many interesting topics, including #Japan the #USA, #hiking, #adventure and even The Path of Wildness. I'm grateful for the opportunity Shea provided me in joining him on his podcast and breaking out of my shell a little.
It's been at least five years since my last #YouTube interview. I think the last time I did this was my appearance on the Three Old Dudes show, which didn't go so well when I got cold feet and bowed out. I feel bad about that event, as my sudden departure had nothing to do with the show or the hosts and was only related to a sudden sense of #loneliness which came upon me all of a sudden when the topic turned to my family which I'd left in Japan. In fact, this may have been the reason I almost decided there and then that I'd rather not maintain my connection to Japan. It's curious, as I never realized that until just now while writing out this blog. What a strange thing indeed.
But then, why not reconnect after my family joined me in May, 2015? Well, by then I think the damage had been done, I'd severed my Japan connections, and there was no good way to get these back. This might be true, but I suspect it's only partly the cause, as I really do think I'm truly the type of man who can only live one lifetime at a time...
