Going Alone to Scotland

Updated: Aug 26, 2022

This copy of Going Alone has an interesting journey ahead. It’s going to a twenty-something young man who chose to go alone to one of the ends of the earth. He’s living now far from his family and friends upon a remote Scottish isle in the Hebrides. Yesterday, he ventured alone to the westernmost tip of Scotland, to Iona Island, from whence he sent me photos of the graves of forgotten Scottish saints—the same graves Dr. Johnson wrote about during his 1775 visit to this same island. Brendan is Going Alone in earnest to be sure, and the telemetry he’s thus far shared with me of his journey suggests the venture has not been in vain. Best wishes, Brendan. Your copy of Going Alone is on its way. Be safe… But not too safe. #goingalone#stoicism
