STOIC POETRY | Yesterday’s long desert sojourn was a new experience of indifference

Updated: Sep 4, 2021

Yesterday’s long desert sojourn was a new experience of indifference. A recognition that the cold shoulder of nature is made of stone.

Upon further investigation I keep discovering that the cold depth of nature goes further and deeper than I'd ever thought. Though I don't know why I'd doubt this fact, as what would I otherwise expect to find back there in the deep, deep - but more deep - and colder deep - and stiller and darker deep. No wonder we avoid the deep.

My name is Kurt Bell.

You can learn more about The Good Life in my book Going Alone.

Be safe... But not too safe.
