Today I limbered up and ran two miles before my swim. Add to that the fact that I’ve only eaten a piece of bread and a small bowl of my own homemade soup in the last 24 hours and I’m feeling pretty lean and mighty. I don’t think I’d live like this anywhere else or at any time prior in my life. Age, gratitude to be alive, excitement about what life there is yet to live are together quite powerful forces to harness all at once and in the direction of not wasting a single remaining day of life.
