Going Alone

I’m pleased with the first formal camp site I’ve established at the near edge of the Deep Water wilderness. The site is 1.5 miles north of the ghost town of Siberia, at the top of a low granite rise. The view here is exceptional, looking both back towards Siberia, where the lights of long freight trains can be seen slowly moving across the dark desert, and forward towards the depths of Deep Water, where there are utterly no sign of humanity, besides the long-forgotten remains
