This video was the first I made during the past week's excursion to the desert ghost town of Siberia. I made the video from my helmet's GoPro camera after spotting a large dust storm rising on the dry lake beds just south of the famous Bagdad Cafe a few miles outside Newberry Springs. Storms like this rise suddenly and often in the East Mojave, and I keep a pair of workman's goggles handy above the motorcycle's dashboard for use when I arrive at Siberia in a dust storm and need some protection for the eyes while setting up camp. My Schuberth helmet provides outstanding dust protection, though it's a bit bulky to wear around camp.

Going Alone was begun by Kurt Bell in an effort to help others understand and manage the recognition of the apparent indifference of the universe to our well being, happiness or even our existence, and to find ways to make a good life in spite of this fact.
